Happy Christmas all!

So that's it for another year. The Dylans would like to thank everyone who came out to see them this Winter Tour and hope that you had as good a time as they did. Let's do the whole thing again next year! Meantime, be sure to bookmark the web site and pop back from time to time when we'll posting details of upcoming gigs and other Dylan Project-related news.

Meanwhile, we hear that PJ Wright will be along shortly with some thoughts and reflections from the tour. See you then.

The music was fantastic

"Here I am back in Dumfries after seeing my first Dylan Project gig in Kendal on Saturday night. What a great night it was too. I managed to bag a front row seat so I got close to all that was going on with the guys. I was particularly impressed with the musicianship of PJ Wright, and Dave Pegg's extra low five string bass added great depth to the overall sound. The songs included Handle With Care (the Wilburys) and some tex-mex Bob from last year's Christmas album - so that was a nice surprise. They even did my request for Highway 61 much to my delight. So roll on Winchester on the 17th when I can repeat the whole thing again!"

Butlins? In December? With our OUR reputation?

Butlins
Despite the weather, the Dylans had a great time at the Great British Folk Festival at Butlins in Skegness. This was typical of the audience reaction.

"We made it to Butlins Skegness.....just!....A last minute decision due to snow, but so glad we did (despite car breakdown!!)…..Although the organisation took a while to kick in ....the weekend eventually was brill, despite artist cancellations.....The climax for us was Sunday evening and your Dylan Project....Thanks for the most wonderful experience....In fact our group...(seven of us 'Fair Mobility' volunteers from Cropredy)...have asked me on their behalf to say how we enjoyed your session so much.....Thank you!......We were all 'arm dancing' in the audience...couldn't get to the front to bop!!.....To see Steve's beaming smile was priceless...It was obvious you also all enjoyed playing that event.......We have already booked again for next year."

They're getting the hang of this...

Just one of many nice comments the band has been getting on this tour.

"A great show by five seasoned musicians. Even if you are not a fan of Dylan’s singing these guys deliver (in their own way) on one of the best songwriters of the era - Bob Dylan would be impressed. Major names in the business have tried to cover Dylan but the Project puts them to shame. A must see – and they are getting better … Thanks guys."

Some Dylans Love

The chaps have been getting plenty of praise on the current tour and they're not so shy that they to want to keep it all to themselves. So you'll some audience comments here from time to time.

"Hey guys, Just thought I say you guys were amazing. I'm 24 and love to explore different kinds of music. I first came across Dylan at the age of 18 via Jimi Hendrix's cover of All Along the Watch Tower and decided to the buy the Best of Dylan CD and it really grew on me. I really enjoyed your gig and I bought your CD, but obviously I never knew all your songs as the CD is only a small chunk of Dylan."

"Just wanted to say what a great night, it's so good to hear great songs played by stunning musicians with passion and style. Felt the spirit of Bob was in the room, loved Steve's voice which has got better over the years and what an honour to shake Dave Pegg's hand almost 35 years after first seeing him play. Tombstone Blues was even better than the original, and thanks to last night have finally converted my mate to Bob Dylan. See you at Cropredy"

Winterlude, Winterlude, my little apple

Nothing gets in the way of the Winter tour. Not even winter. Here are the Dylans going the extra mile (or rather ten feet) to make sure that the next town gets a big old bowl of Bob in time for the next gig.
